June 4 Auction/Dinner to increase scholarships, other funds


Come to the great land of OZ on June 4 from 6:30-10:00 p.m. for the third annual Auction/Dinner/Reverse Raffle to benefit Providence Cristo Rey High School. The event hosted and sponsored by St. Joseph Parish, will take place at the Knights of Columbus Hall at 71st Street and Keystone Ave. All proceeds raised that evening will increase funds for student scholarships and capital improvements. Planners of the event are especially grateful to Dauby O'Connor and Zaleski, LLC, for underwriting the event. They also are thankful to Gold Angel Sponsors: Keith and Sarah Faller, St. Vincent Health: and Blue Angel Sponsors: Frank and Valerie Esposito, Marian, Inc. PFM Car and Truck Care Center (John and Jean Neely), and Doug and Rie Sylvester. Organizers of the event also are excited about the variety of auction items including sports' memorabilia, original art works, vacation packages, jewelry and antiques that will be available to participants. PCRHS to graduate 1st Senior Class, June 9 at 7 p.m.


Providence Cristo Rey High School will graduate its first senior class, June 9 at 7 p.m. in the PCRHS Gymnasium at 75 N. Belleview Place. The event will consist of a Baccalaureate Mass at which Rev. Monsignor Joseph F. Schaedel, vicar general of the Archdiocese of Indianapolis, will preside and the Commencement ceremony during which the members of the school's initial class will receive their diplomas from Sister of Providence Jeanne Hagelskamp, SP, principal, and Paul F. Madden, president. All of the graduating seniors have been accepted into college.

Valedictorian Shatera Madding, daughter of Ms. Newtelra Jackson, will address the graduates, parents, friends and supporters of the school. Jude Okpalannaka, son of Jude and Bernadine Okpalannaka, will serve as salutatorian. Simon P. Arteaga, son of. Pedro and Ade Arteaga, Quincy Bryant, son of Ms. Kim Bryant, Angietoria L.R. Lynem, daughter of Ms. Angietoria Reese, and Janata A.Williams, daughter of Ms. Nata Williams, also will graduate.
